Purchase sustainable PCs with a Carbon Trust loan
Sustainable computers are energy efficient and environmentally friendly, created using skilful, eco-sensitive design methods...
In today’s digitally-enhanced world, using sustainable PCs makes a significant difference to our carbon footprint – it’s something we should all be doing, especially in buildings where a number of computers are running at once.

We at Connecting Minds are a Sheffield-based company, specialising in providing sustainable computer technology to schools, colleges and work places. Now, we have teamed up with another Sheffield-based firm, VeryPC, to bring our customers the very latest in sustainable computer technology. VeryPC specialises in the manufacture and supply of sustainable, environmentally friendly computers – such as their Broadleaf model, which can be purchased with a Carbon Trust loan.
A cost-effective way for you to upgrade your PC equipment
Carbon Trust Energy Efficiency loans are the cost-effective way for schools, businesses and organisations to upgrade their PC equipment with more environmentally friendly, sustainable solutions. The loans, which are interest-free and incur no arrangement fees, allow eligible applicants to borrow £3,000 to £100,000, unsecured for up to 4 years.
Loans can be for all or part of a project, and will be considered for any proposal that will achieve a saving of at least 2 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per £1,000 borrowed. The Carbon Trust loan procedure aims to make your repayments less than your estimated saving in energy consumption, making the loan easy to repay.
Exceeding the standard for energy saving recommended certificate
VeryPC has been leading the way in sustainable technology for some years now, specialising in creating energy-efficient computer solutions for home, business and educational use. Yet their new Broadleaf PC, which is the first desktop computer to be awarded the new 5.0 standard Energy Saving Recommended certification, has pushed back all the boundaries.
The 5.0 standard demands extraordinarily low operating and standby power consumption. However, VeryPC was not content with just meeting the standard – they wanted to set a new one. Their Eco-Power Management (EPM™) technology ensures Broadleaf PCs beat the Energy Star 5 rating by up to 55%, exceeding EU rules by a large margin and earning “Class Leader” status from DEFRA. However, sustainable technology is about more than just energy. VeryPC has created the Broadleaf to be their most environmentally friendly PC yet. This means an aluminium chassis, and zero PVCs, BFRs and other toxins.
Find out how much you can borrow...
We at Connecting Minds are delighted to be joining forces with VeryPC, as Broadleaf computers will not be available to purchase from them direct. Through us, you can calculate how much you can borrow from the Carbon Trust, based on the carbon and energy savings of your project, before ordering your PCs.
